Why Seattle?

Why Seattle?

Seattle is one of the most unchurched regions in America.
- Approximately 90% of the population does not attend church of any kind.

-Less than 4% are considered evangelical Bible-believing Christians.

-It is estimated that there are more evangelical Christians in Communist China than in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.

-Seattle is a strong force of world influence.

-Home to major world-wide corporations: Microsoft, Starbucks, Boeing, and
Amazon.com

-It is one of fifteen major cities in the United States.

- It is considered by many nations to have a leading impact on technology,
international commerce, music, world religions, outdoor recreation, and
environmental concerns.

Where in Seattle is The Commons (the church I will be serving)?
Arlington/Marysville are two cities closely linked to one another and provide a prime location for planting a church.

-This area is located north of Downtown Seattle on the fast-growing outskirts.

-It is strategically located on Interstate 5, a major highway for Seattle
transportation.

-It provides affordable living for new families moving to Seattle or moving away from the city.

-With plenty of undeveloped land it is a major target for new housing developments and businesses.

-There are thousands in this area with no church involvement and more are
projected to come.

Maybe you could reach out to the military here on Fort Lewis. It would be a great thing, and many of us army wives feel lost. I havnt been to church since I left GFBC. I just cant seem to find a church where I feel "at home".

It's a shame that God has to shake things up to get us out of our comfort zone, and get fired up for him. I am so glad you have taken on this mission God has given you. I will be praying for you and everyone involved in this movement.
